You'll be delighted by this charming Queen Anne Victorian home all decked out and ready for the holidays. As is Wilderstein’s quintessential tradition, each year florists, artists and designers transform the Wilderstein mansion into a magical yuletide wonderland. Be transported back in time where many of the rooms display period ornaments and appear as though the Suckley Family, Wilderstein’s longtime residents, just stepped out momentarily. Others showcase modern and even unexpected holiday decor, dramatically juxtaposed against the mansion’s Victorian backdrop. When it comes to gift giving, wrap up your holiday shopping ahead of schedule this year at Wilderstein. Our museum store has a wide assortment of unique items for just about everyone. Offerings include a multitude of books, old-fashioned toys, home goods, souvenirs, and other merchandise related to the Hudson Valley’s rich history. Best of all, these purchases directly support the preservation of Wilderstein for future generations. The landscape at Wilderstein, designed in the American Romantic Tradition by Calvert Vaux to highlight breathtaking Hudson River views, is an extraordinary place for a winter walk. During tour hours, warm up afterwards with complimentary hot mulled cider and cookies! Wilderstein is open for holiday tours from 1 to 4 PM on Thanksgiving weekend (November 25, 26 & 27) and weekends in December (December 3 & 4, 10 & 11, 17 & 18) plus on Monday, December 26 and Tuesday, December 27.
