Volunteer Orientation

Wilderstein is always seeking individuals interested in becoming tour guides, curatorial and landscape volunteers.  Learn more about getting involved at Wilderstein at our annual information session for new and returning volunteers.  Refreshments will be served.  Please call 845.876.4818 for additional details.

Daffodil Tea

April 17  (Saturday)  1:00 PM

Springtime event featuring a variety of tea sandwiches, other sweets, and tour of the Wilderstein Mansion.  Admission $25 per adult and $10 per child.  Reservations are necessary.  Please call 845.876.4818 for more information.

Spring Landscape Days

April 24 & June 19  (Saturdays)  8:30 AM

Join Wilderstein's landscape volunteers in preparing the site's gardens and trails for summer.  Refreshments will be served.  For more information, please call 845.876.4818.

Regular Tour Season & "CPR" Exhibit

May 1 - October 31  (Thursday - Sunday)

noon - 4:00 PM 

House museum open for guided tours  - last tour begins at 3:30 PM.  New exhibition, entitled "CPR," showcasing the remarkable Conservation, Preservation and Restoration efforts at Wilderstein over the past 30 years. This exhibit examines the process involved in restoring the exterior of the mansion; innovative approaches used to reclaim and maintain the historic landscape; recent conservation work on the dining room, entry hall and library; as well as the conservation treatment of objects in the collections. 

Fala Gala

May 22  (Saturday)  noon - 3 PM

Wilderstein's biannual "doggy" event celebrating the gift of Scottie Dog Fala by Margaret (Daisy) Suckley to Franklin Roosevelt.  A great opportunity for adults, kids, and dogs of all breeds to experience Wilderstein’s magnificent grounds and enjoy howls of fun. This special day features a pooch parade, Fala look-alike contest, short bread bake-off, snack bar (hot dogs, anyone), scotch tasting and more.  Admission to the event is $25 per dog, canine admirers (people) are free.  For more information, please call 845.876.4818.

Fall Landscape Days

October 16 & November 6  (Saturdays)  8:30 AM

Holiday Tour Weekends

November 26, 27 & 28 and

December 4 & 5, 11 & 12, 18 & 19, 26 & 27 

1:00 PM - 4:00 PM

Florists and designers transform the Wilderstein mansion into a magical holiday spectacular.  Tour the mansion at your own pace, with guides in each room to share information and answer questions.  It's the most wonderful time of the year at Wilderstein!

Yuletide Tea

December 11  (Saturday) 1:00 PM

Afternoon affair with fine tea, finger sandwiches, homemade cakes and cookies.  Admission $25 per adult and $10 per child.  Reservations are necessary, as seating is limited.  Call 845.876.4818 for more information.
